 Suggested Age Range:  8 to 11
 Approx. Running Time: 40 minutes.
 Music: 7 songs and 1 dance (arranged for descant recorders). 4 songs are for entire chorus/crowd. 1 solo with choruses by cast. All arranged for easy piano + guitar chords, percussion, recorders can be used as available.
 Set: School classroom/hall. (Outside scene simply created by park bench, flashback to darkcellar by lighting).
 Synopsis: It is bonfire night and the school is staging a performance of a play about the Gunpowder Plot. The children are searching through the costume box when Jacob finds a hat which he decides to wear for his part as King James. However, the hat has unexpected properties and when Jacob's Granny borrows it, all sorts of strange things happen and disaster is narrowly averted.
What is so special about that hat? Is Granny out of control? Will history be changed so that King James is finally blown into pieces?
